Description: McNeil, and Peter Schwandt, decoration; Jane Harrell,theme; and Albert Griffith, music.The Senior Show, held at the Winter Carnival onFebruary 11, 1958, was entitled The Birth of Rockand Roll. With a background of musical notes andscales, the songs of the past and present were reviewed.A chorus line of girls gave a very impressive versionof the Charleston. The blues section of our musical pastwas highlighted by an imitation of Fats Domino doneby Larry Fox. To bring our history of music up to Rockand Roll times, Steve Minnick and Bob Shields sangseveral songs accompanied by the Dillets. A stroll number with both boys and girls dancing brought the showto a close. Pooch Harrell was Master of Ceremoniesthroughout the show and did an excellent job of throwing in his choice tidbits of humor.The Seniors presented Our Hearts Were Young andGay on March 26-28. This was an hilarious comedywritten by Cornelia Otis Skinner and Emily Kimbroughand dramatized by Jane Kerr. The play deals with theadventures of two young girls in Paris. The play wasa great success, and our Seniors enjoyed working onit immensely.All juniors and seniors took part in the Career Dayexercises held at Bloomington High School and IndianaUniversity on Friday, March 14. Classes were held todiscuss the different job opportunities and fields ofeducation of interest to high school students. Theseclasses were both pleasant and beneficial to the juniorsand seniors at B.H.S.The Seniors enjoyed two senior parties during theyear 1957-58. Their first party was on Saturday, November 3. It was held in the Girls gym and games,food, and dancing were enjoyed by all seniors whoattended. Another senior party was given on April 3and the seniors came together for their last class partyat B.H.S.The Senior Class officers for the year were FrankHill, president; Bob Pooch Harrell, vice-president;Carol Jo Poling, secretary; Suzanne Graves, treasurer;Sandra Hudson, Gothic editor-in-chief; and RobertaBorno, Gothic business manager.
