The Junior-Senior Prom on May 10, 1957, atthe Sarkes Tarzan Cafeteria can be counted as one ofthe most enchanting evenings spent by our seniors. Onentering the Oriental Gardens, couples steppedthrough a carnation-filled archway. Chinese lanternswere suspended in the air to create the mystic atmosphere. A beautiful fountain of gushing water decorated one end of the dance floor. Tracy Branum andLarry Ryser crowned the new King and Queen, Carolyn Sullivan and Joe Horstman, with oriental hatsmade into crowns. The coronation was followed by aGrand March. Richard Sutherlin and his Orchestrafurnished the music for the dance. At the intermissionthe prom-goers were entertained with a number by theMadrigals, a pantomime by Patty Chestnut and BillBissey, a solo by Larry Ryser, a trumpet solo by RogerBush, and a quartet consisting of John Allen, DavidNeal, Phil Farlee, and Larry Ryser.
