There will be particular interest innext years varsity because they will be the first graduatingplayers benefiting from the junior high program. This yearsjunior high team was the first team to play outside competition. They were downed by Martinsville 18-6. The juniorhigh gridders are tutored by Marvin Groh.^ BasketballThe junior high cagers struggled through a below-averageseason with most of the games going in the lost column.Winning games, however, is not the main purpose of thejunior high program; emphasis is placed on participation.Participation, the coaches feel, tends to develop interest inthe sport. Practice consists of teaching the basic fundamentalsof basketball rather than actual plays. The young Pantherhardwood aces are coached by Bill Milne and Duane Wilson.■: ■ 53 I •71 !First row, left to right: Ellis George, Gary Anderson, Don Clark, Ronald Roberts, Jim Wellman, Danny Foltz.
