Smith, Rita Fender.Cheerleaders *To develop skill in cheerleading was the main purpose of theJunior High Cheerleading Club. During the year, members became acquainted with many yells and had the opportunity toperform during at least one game. Thirty-three members wereselected at tryouts in the fall. The officers were Irene Somes,president; Carol Freeman, vice-president; Ruth Sieboldt, secretary; Elaine Hill, treasurer. The faculty directors for thegroup were Mrs. Daerr and Mrs. Alexander.BoostersThe Junior High Boosters were seen enthusiastically cheeringtheir basketball team to victory this past season. They attendedevery home game and sat as a unit on the east bleachers.Coupled with Junior High Cheerleaders, they co-sponsoredseveral junior high pep sessions during the basketball season.A gala party in the girls gym was the concluding feature forthe Junior Boosters.
