HomecomingA white float of tissue carnations was constructed for the homecoming queen candidatesby the senior class. The candidates were PaddyEngle, Rhea Stewart, Sandy Sylvester, DorothyTucker, and Evelyn Sansone.Instead of a pep session, a parade was held.Those in the parade were the queen candidates,A band, football team, varsity cheerleaders,and the entire student body.During the halftime of the B.H.S.-Clintonfootball game was the homecoming celebration.The band presented a homecoming show, andat the conclusion they formed a crown wherethe crowning of the homecoming queen tookplace. The queens were escorted into the crownby the band twirlers. Mr. H. E. Binford hadthe pleasure of crowning Paddy Engle, homecoming queen.Paddy Engle, 1955 homecoming queen, is shown at theafter-game dance with her escort Jerry Tardy.The majorettes formed anaisle for the homecoming queencandidates as they walked onthe football field for an impressive crowning ceremony.The band participated in theevent by forming the outlineof a crown. Each candidatecarried a bouquet of flowers.After the homecoming coronation, the smiling queen,Paddy Engle and her courtconsisting of Evelyn Sansone,Sandy Sylvester, Rhea Stewart,and Dorothy Tucker, relax onthe float made by the seniorclass to enjoy the last half ofthe football game.114 |
