This motto is imprinted on the clubstationery and has been important to the actorsand actresses for many years. In this golden anniversary year the players arecelebrating 50 years of dramatics at B.H.S. Evenbefore the present stage was built, students whowere then having classes in the seminary building began producing plays. This organizationhas grown until nearly 100 students are membersof Proscenium Players. This year in addition tothe celebration of the anniversary, the club presented a 3-act play, Reserve Two For Murder,a melodrama for the Winter Carnival, a Christmas play for convocation, and several other one-act plays for club meetings and other functions.Membership is gained through try-outs beforethe officers and sponsor, or one may be admittedfor outstanding work on the Technical staff. Theofficers were Judy Barrett, president; Bill Hawk,vice-president; Pat Gray, secretary; Kenny Simpson, treasurer; and Bill Bissey and Gene Park,sergeants-at-arms. Many traditions are connectedwith this club, which is one of the oldest atB.H.S. One of these concerns an old make-upsweatshirt that originally belonged to Carol Hudson. This shirt is handed down each year to thegirl considered most outstanding by the presentowner. Carol Babb proudly wore the sweatshirtthis year. One other honor bestowed upon outstanding actors and actresses is the ProsceniumPlayers Best Players award. Two senior students, usually a girl and a boy, are selected as outstanding players and presented with small engraved gold loving cups. Their names are alsoengraved upon a plaque which is hung eitherin the trophy case in the front hall or in room203, according to the desires of the club. Forseveral years it has remained with other trophiesin the front hall. These awards are goals for theplayers from the time they first enter the cluband are highly cherished by the winners. This Page Sponsored by BOWER & SONSPlumbing — Heating — Air-Conditioning34
