The band took a bus trip to a footballgame at Clinton where they played and marchedduring the half time.Probably one of the most talked about activitiesin band was the challenge determining which personheld what chair in his particular section. There wereseveral challenges this year.Officers for the past year were Jon Shive, president; John Thomas, vice-president; Newell Gooldy,secretary; Charlotte Murphy, treasurer; and JimHays, student director. Mr. Carl W. Frye was thedirector.SENIOR HIGH ORCHESTRA became a fosterparent this year when it adopted a Korean child forone year. The child was located through the aid ofthe Christian Children Fund. In order to financethis project, the Orchestra gave a childrens concertearly in the spring.The Senior High Orchestra presented Christmasand Easter concerts, and they participated in theAnnual Music Festival. The Senior High Orchestrain collaboration with the Junior High Orchestra presented a concert. After a string ensemble was organized it played for various organizations.The officers of the Senior High Orchestra wereRonnie Hacker, president; John Thomas, vice-president; Jane East, secretary; and Carolyn Dunlap,treasurer.
