Under the capable direction of Mr. DonaldNeal, the orchestra is constantly striving to express the full quality of the famouscompositions played.Although public performance is not regarded as the most important contrbu-tion of music education in Bloomington High School, the orchestra does share withthe public much of the good music. Every spring and fall the orchestra gives ajoint concert with the band. Also, the orchestra plays between acts during the nightperformances of the three-act plays. When the Baccalaureate services are heldeach spring in the Indiana University Auditorium, the Bloomington High SchoolOrchestra, with the University High School Orchestra, performs for this service.On Honor Day several students received second class musician, first classmusician, and master musician awards. The honors were won by participation inensembles and solos played at the many pop concerts which were held duringthe year.The Arian Award is given to the most outstanding senior in the orchestra.
