Description:	Me Teach? was the title of a play seen lastJanuary by the members of the Future Teachersof America, but it might also have been thequestion which some of the prospective members asked of themselves. However, their fearswere probably allayed as they learned that aprofession in teaching is not to be feared, butto be enjoyed. During the club meetings themembers discussed the problems and opportunities in teaching, viewed movies, heard speakers, and participated in skits which were relatedto some phase of teaching. A banquet was givenin the spring in honor of the graduating seniorsof the F.T.A. Some of the club membersattended a state Future Teachers of Americaconference which was held on the Indiana University campus in November.The officers this year were Carol Babb, president; Ernie Lockridge, vice-president; JudyPressler, secretary; Maria Van Hook, treasurer;and Judy Barrett, press correspondent. MissMerle Gilstrap is the club sponsor.A club, so new that this years members werecharter members who have just adopted theirconstitution, is the Future Nurses Club. Theclub is primarily for girls who are interestedin nursing, but boys may belong if they wouldlike to become nurses.The Future Nurses club gives the girls achance to discover what a career in nursingoffers and what it requires. It also encouragesthe girls to learn more about personal and community health. During the year the girls sawa number of films which dealt with nursing andheard several speakers who talked about thedifferent types and phases of nursing. The futurenurses also toured a hospital and the IndianaUniversity medical building. All of these activities helped the girls to make wise decisions aboutcareers in professional and practical nursing.The officers for the year were Gloria Branam,president; Patty Deckard, vice-president; andDonna Chandler, secretary and treasurer.
