On the fields of friendly rivalry our athletes,striving against their opponents, gain valuable trainingand bring honor to our school.Ushering in our athletic year, football was watched from the sidelines by the fans from early autumnevenings to crisp, windy nights. Representing this rugged sport, Phil Records tucks the ball safely under hisarm and is off for a touchdown. . . . Basketball, one ofthe most popular sports in B.H.S., occupied the midwinter months on our athletic calendar. Jack Browntries for a field goal and the scorekeeper chalks up another two points. . . . Sharing the time of year withbasketball, wrestling is rapidly growing in popularity asone of the major sports. Max Bruce is in position forthat all important start off grapple with his opponent.. . . Although our golf team is small in number, it ismighty in strength. Buck Hoke uses his niblick to blastout of the sand trap. . . . With spring setting the pace,the track squad again ran through another successfulseason—Mac Randall takes a hurdle in championshipform. We proudly present our ATHLETICS. |
