Taking its name from the renowned Greek author, Thespis, Thespians is representative of the finest indramatic art.The Bloomington Chapter is number one hundred forty-two. Having been chartered in June 1, 1930,the local organization is one of the oldest in the United States. Mrs. Childs has been sponsor ofChapter 142 since 1930. Mrs. Childs is recognized nationally as an outstanding coach of drama.Each year the Thespians present medals to the outstanding actors and actresses in the high school.Thespian members direct one act plays during the school year. In other words, Thespians are the foundation of the dramatic program of Bloomington High School.The officers of the local chapter are: Robert Harvey, President; William Harris, Vice-President; Kenneth Bidwell, Secretary-Treasurer. |
