Though winning few games, they stuck to it and neverquit fighting.Coach Mumbys first call for football candidates wasin the middle of August, and the boys went through theirfirst workouts with a temperature above 90 degreesin the shade. The Panthers first tough break camewhen Captain Bob Sudbury, tackle, broke his wristin a practice scrimmage after having played in onlythe first game.Air of Bloomingtons home games, except thelast two, were played in Memorial Stadium atIndiana University.Vincennes was Bloomingtons first opponent, with the Alices winning 21-0.
