Description: THE STUDENT COUNCILThe Student Council is composed of two separate groups known asthe Boys Council and the Girls Council. In the fall, beginning their second year, the two councils were reorganized, with Mr. Templeton and Mrs.Krueger as sponsors. To promote better school spirit, to bring about closer relations between the faculty and the students, and to elevate moral standards are theaims and purposes of the Student Council, which represents the entire student body.A very active organization, it has sponsored many worthy projectsfor the school. When school started in September, the members furnished information to all students. At basketball games the Girls Councilwelcomed visitors and ushered them to their seats. Occasionally thecouncil held all-school tea dances in the Girls Gym. The Christmas season found the council very busy in overseeing the decoration of two largeChristmas trees in the halls and cooperating with the home rooms in collecting and delivering Christmas baskets to the poor. Also, the members aided in the fight against tuberculosis and infantile paralysis by selling bangles and buttons. This spring they promoted a style show. Thus, the Student Council has greatly benefited the school by its services.LIBRARY STAFFTo accommodate the students of our high school in educational andrecreational reading, juniors and seniors who are interested in librarywork, may take a library training course.Having a staff of boys and girls, who are well acquainted with the library procedure not only is a great help to Miss Ella Davidson, librarian, but also serves as excellent training for the members of the class.During the year our library has increased its volume of books by manyworthy additions, and it may be recognized as one of the best libraries ofits type. With its colorful bookshelves and highly polished tables and chairs, the library of B.H.S. is one of the most inviting rooms in the school.Page fifty-five
