Description: And the understudies of Coach Mumby did not stop here, but wenton to the Indiana and Kentucky Amateur Athletic Union events heldat Louisville several w7eeks after the state meet. In this athletic carnival of the mat Douglas won from his team-mate Cline in the 125-lb.class after he was unopposed in the 115-lb. class. Richard Voliva Avonthe championship of the Indiana and Kentucky A. A. U. in the 165-lb.class, as did his team-mate Ross Hazel in the 135-lb. class. Tatumlanded a second place in this event as he had done before in the statehigh school championship. The hard Avorking persistence of RossHazel was rewarded when he was chosen to lead the Bloomington HighSchool Wrestlers of the 1931 season, and another state championshipoutfit is expected for that year.Coach Mumby attributes a great deal of his success with his wrestling team to the excellent attitude that the men displayed all throughout the season.The glory due to the boys on these grounds can not be taken away,but also the coach must be congratulated, for it is his genius and persistence that has presented so many Avinning teams to the BloomingtonHigh School.
