Description: Joe Bill SpriggsHenry MartinRobert BartlettBloomington won its second game fromthe strong Shelbyville aggregation, thevictors over many of the strongest teamsin the state. The Panthers played a slowoffensive and a strong defensive game,gaining the lead at the start of the secondhalf and never again losing it. The twofollowing games were lost to Vincennesand Morton of Eichmond; both were poorly played games without spirit.Then the Panthers won their third andlast scheduled game from Mitchell by ascore 33-32 in a fast hard-played contest,crowned by a last minute rally by the Panthers to win. The home boys made 8 pointsin the last minute and thrilled the discouraged fans by coming out the victor.The fruits of victory were not lasting;however, and they went down for thesecond time before Logansport. This timethere were no ineligible men to wipe outthe 62-17 defeat given them by the celebrated up-staters, thus closing the seasonwith 3 wins and 17 defeats.The Sectional Tournament was a failureas far as Bloomington was concerned andthey were put out in the second round.The first game was taken from Smithvilleby a 19-13 score, but the second was lostto Eminence 22—16. In this game fourseniors played their last game: Capt.,Isbell, Piscus, Kenney and Martin.The men to get major awards for 1929-30 are: Isbell, Piscus, Kenney, Smith,Woodruff, and Bartlett. Minor awards are:Spriggs, Martin, Curry, Young, and Mc-Elvain.One Hundred Thirteen
