Description: Sixty-sevenThe GothicTHE “VOTES FOR WOMEN” CLUBMeeting Place: Room 33Motto: We will either castvotes, or bombs.The Votes-for-Women Club is an organization for thepropagation of the heretical doctrine that Adams extra ribcontained his best qualities.The members are so firm in this belief that they resur-rect the Declaration of Independence to prove that the homewould not be injured by women in politics. They claim thatpolitics is more sacred than the home, and cite Terre Hauteto prove it. They also indulge in numerous destructivecampaigns to show their superiority to the Collins boys.Incidentally they talk in History classes and throw bombs.The club has no officers, because its members cannot vote.The members are: Mary L. Esary, Mary Hemmers-baugh, Portia Bell, Loraine Barbour, Evah Torrence, ElsieHattery, Lucy Johnson, Anne Johnstone, The McAllisterSisters, Miss VanAuken, and Anna J. Klinkler.For dual debates or arguments on woman suffrage, seeany of the above named-but get your life insured first.B. H.
