Finally her friendasked her what she was thinking about.Grace: O, I was just wondering how theyll ever getthat cup back in there!* * * *Miss Soupart, (discussing a play she had seen: Youcould see vases of flowers coming down the marble steps.* * * *Gladys Lucke (on being asked why she subscribed tothe Gothic, when Lorena also had gotten a copy): Why,Lorena might get married and go away, and then I wouldnthave any!* * * *Miss Soupart: Why ever did they call Austin SewardChigger?Swiggle: Why, you see, that used to be Heinies name,but when they were small they were so much alike youcouldnt tell them apart, and so folks got them twisted.And thats the way it happened.
