Mark had gone to the house earlyMonday morning to check on his mother and pregnantlister. The police who entered the house found a thirdbody, 31 year old James Hoard, slayer of the two women,flue to evidence found, and Hoard’s stack of nearly 30court files, police believe Hoard shot both women in theJiice, then proceeded to kill himself.Despite a tumultuous relationship documented bythe filing of protective orders this past spring and sumflier, Hoard and Adams had secretly gotten married September 3rd. The next day,Hoard and Adams filed protective orders against both of her parentsasking that they be ordered to leave them alone. The followingmonth, on July 22nd, Adams asked that her name be dropped fromthe request, saying Hoard forced her to file the petition against herwill. She also stated in a letter that he had been abusive toward herand that she had left him.Unfortunately by September, Donnetta’s dependence on Hoardincreased due to her pregnancy and worrying about how she wouldraise her baby alone. Two weeks later, Hoard, wearing a black skimask and dressed in a black ninja style coat and pants over a camouflage suit, entered the apartment on West Davis Street and shot todeath the woman he said he loved, killing the baby she carried.
