William Henry Harrison Inaugural walking stick, 1841

Description: William Henry Harrison Walking cane inscribed and dated March 4, 1841. 37 long. Inaugural cane inscribed on gold metal top (handle) around bottom band area: Gen. William H. Harrison March 4th, 1841. Top handle is square shaped with white or crystal jewel. Under the jewel the metal top narrows and then widens again with decorative bands. Wood of cane is lighter on one side at top under inscription. Metal gold colored top is about 2 1/4 long. Metal band at bottom is 2 1/4 long. Hole through cane 7 from top with gold colored metal plates that would have had a cord or tassel. There is another small hole on one side of the cane about 11 1/4 from the bottom.
