Based in Berkeley, Ca, award-winning editorial cartoonist Khalil Bendib was born under colonial rule during Algeria’s war of independence against France and came to California at age 20. He is the only syndicated political cartoonist in North America bringing a Muslim, non-Eurocentric perspective to our media. His cartoons are featured in over 2,000 small and mid-size newspapers across the country and have been featured in USA Today, the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle and other major newspapers. Mr. Bendib is also co-host of the weekly Pacifica Radio show “Voices of the Middle East and North Africa” and is frequently on the road, giving presentations on matters of political cartooning, Islamophobia and the Middle East/North Africa.
