Scenic View of Mounds State Park, between Anderson and Muncie

Description: Mounds State Park was originally part of the Bronnenberg family lands. The park was sold to the Union Traction Company and operated as an amusement park into the 1920s. When the UTC could no longer maintain the park, the Madison County Historical Society convinced the state of Indiana that the mounds were important historical treasures and should be part of the Indiana State Parks System.
