Letter from Ernest E. Clegg to Jesse G. Dorsey, January 6, 1944.

Description:	Clegg writes from Kodiak, Alaska. He thanks Dorsey for the picture book. He is on Kodiak Island near Kodiak Village Fort Greely. There is plenty of good hunting there. He hopes to go soon. He received bad news of his brother, Louis, a tail gunner in a B-26, is missing in action. This letter is part of a large group of letter written to or by Jesse G. Dorsey during World War II. Dorsey ran the community house for the Louisville Cement Company in Speed, Indiana. Being a veteran of World War I, he knew the value of providing support to the troops. He wrote letters and sent the company newsletter (Speedometer) to several hundred service men and women during the war. The community house also hosted weekend parties for soldiers from Fort Knox, Kentucky during the war.
