Letter from Harry A. Himebaugh to Jesse Dorsey, December 5, 1943.

Description:	Writing from Camp Lee, Himebaugh explains how the army’s two band schools operate from Camp Lee and Camp Crowder. Himebaugh’s director is Lt. Thayer, formerly of Male High School in Louisville. After six weeks of basic training, they go through eight weeks of band school training. This letter is part of a large group of letter written to or by Jesse G. Dorsey during World War II. Dorsey ran the community house for the Louisville Cement Company in Speed, Indiana. Being a veteran of World War I, he knew the value of providing support to the troops. He wrote letters and sent the company newsletter (Speedometer) to several hundred service men and women during the war. The community house also hosted weekend parties for soldiers from Fort Knox, Kentucky during the war.
