1844-09-26 Letter to Mother Mary Lecor, Superior General of Sisters of Providence, Ruillé-sur-Loir

Description: A letter to Mother Mary Lecor discussing the appointment of Father Corbe as their ecclesiastical superior and their continued problems with Bishop de la Hailandière, who has taken on the roles of “accuser, censor, and prosecutor,” refusing to give them the land on which they need to build and finding fault with them over trivial things. Mother Theodore also expresses satisfaction at the success of their establishments, the relief of their financial problems, and the faith and devotion of new members. Dated September 26, 1844.
