A letter to Mother Mary Lecor reporting that Bishop de la Hailandière had taken away her powers as superior and forbidden her to remain in Indiana. She reports that when this news reached Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, the community sent back a letter stating that they would not remain in Indiana, and while Mother Theodore remained in Vincennes, gravely ill, news came that the Bishop’s resignation had been accepted. Dated June 25, 1847. |
