1845-07-12 Letter to Mother Mary Lecor, Superior General of Sisters of Providence, Ruillé-sur-Loir

Description: A letter to Mother Mary Lecor recalling her days at Ruillé and relating the accusations and threats leveled against her by Bishop de la Hailandière. Mother Theodore rejoices in learning that, contrary to what Bishop de la Hailandière had told her, the congregation has Bishop Bouvier’s permission to leave Indiana, although they will stay if they can. She reports the financial stability of the community and gives details about various sisters. Dated July 12, 1845.
