A letter to the Mothers at Ruillé, expressing concern at the illness of Bishop Bouvier, reporting on the success of their work with Catholic students, as well as concern about the prejudice against Catholic schools and the loss of students after the law requiring taxes to pay for public schools. Their new house is almost finished, the railroad is progressing, and St. Mary’s is growing. Dated June 14, 1853. |
