Marie Stuart Edwards and suffragists on tour

Description: Marie Stuart Edwards (seated) with four other women suffragists--(left to right), Della Dortch, Mary McDowell of Chicago, Adah E. Bush of Indiana, and Mrs. Gilford Pinchot--standing to her left, with luggage. The women traveled to San Francisco to attend the National League of Women Voters conference in August 1922. Edwards, a womens rights activist and reformer from Peru, Indiana, was president of the Womans Franchise League of Indiana (1917-1919); a director of National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA) (1920-1921) and first vice president of the National League of Women Voters (1921-1923).
