Frank Building, Lebanon

Description: The Senate Saloon in the Frank Building. Accompanying caption: Frank Building. Built on southeast corner of intersection of Main and Meridian Streets by Josephus Frank in 1873. He occupied corner room for a time with his Senate Saloon, and later a meat market. Was occupied from time of its founding in 1901 until 1906 by Farmers State Bank. Building was razed in 1906-07 by Farmers Bank which put up new stone 3-story building, now known as the Heflin Building. The building burned, or rather was gutted by fire, April 21, 1928. Bank went out of business and building was bought by the late Frank Heflin who remodeled and refitted the structure into a business and office building.
