465. Corner of Market and Meigs, 1937

Description: The corner of Market and Meigs streets in Jeffersonville look like a gathering place for the driftwood and sandbags. Two cars are seen driving down the street in the distance and a lone man is shown walking on the debris strewn sidewalk. The ground has been through the most upheavals at this location with the sidewalk broken and pulled from the cement postings of a homeowners fence, small hills where none existed before the flood and trees leaning in every direction as they were pulled out of the ground or storm tossed. The houses fare no better.
