208. First National Bank

Description: The First National Bank, located at the corner of Market and Spring, was a three story building with a basement. The building was in the shape of a rectangle, with the front left hand side angled, rather than a corner. The main entrance was on that slice with 8 steps to the entrance. The windows all had eyebrows or some type of ornamentation at the top. With 6 visiable chimneys, it must have been more comfortable to work in than many other Victorian era buildings. Safety features included a three story fire escape, and doors on at least three sides of the building. A small park with gazebo stood at its back. Beyond it was a two sotry home. Early telephone poles are shown along with another commerical building to its left on Spring.
