Shown are the trestles and rail bed leading up to the Big Four Railroad Bridge, and an addition set of rails with an interurban trolley on the rails approaching the bridge. . With the electric interurban gaining in popularity, tracks were laid to permit the trolley cars to approach and use the bridge to make multiple trips a day over the bridge with passengers bound for Louisville for jobs, shopping, or entertainment. Houses can be seen lining the streets on either side of the bridge approach. |
