714. Ferry shed at Madison, Indiana

Description: The image shows a ferry shed at Madison (Jefferson County, Indiana). The picture most likely taken from the bow of the ferry boat arriving to dock. In and around the shed / dock can be seen people waiting for the boat and others waiting to help load or unload items to be taken to Kentucky. People can be seen on the embankment, with a train cars on a rail at the top of the slight hill. There is a row of buildings to both the left and right of the main road leading down the hill. At the far right of the picture can be seen railings on the boat and a flag pole topped by an eagle on globe with its wings spread.
