540. Parking for Rose Island

Description: The owners of Rose Island provided as many ways of access to the resort as possible, even to the extent of purchasing land on the Kentucky side of the Ohio River and providing a manned parking lot and free ferry rides for potential customers. This 1930 advertisement image shows a man sitting beside a row of early cars, with additional rows of cars on either side, demonstrating the ample space for large crowds of entertainment seekers.
