The Murphy Building was the first fireproof building in the wholesale district and is one of the oldest reinforced concrete structures in the area. Originally home to several small wholesale and manufacturing businesses, including the Central Rubber and Supply Company, the Murphy Building was converted into apartments in 1986. Known as the Harness Factory Lofts, the building contains shops on the ground floor and apartments in the remaining six stories. |
