Circle Tower

Description: The Circle Tower, constructed from 1929 to 1930, is located at 5 East Market Street on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The Towers architects, Rubush & Hunter, designed this limestone building with setback, terraced upper stories to reduce shadows cast on the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, seen in the foreground of the photograph. The entrance to the building on Market Street and its interior feature Egyptian motifs, popularized after the discovery of King Tuts tomb in 1922. The Circle Tower houses storefronts on the first floor and office spaces throughout the building.
