The Kahn Tailoring Companys production plant, constructed during the 1910s, is located at 800 North Capitol Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana. Kahn Tailoring was founded in 1886 by Henry Kahn. The business began as a small tailor shop and, by the 1910s, expanded into the large plant on North Capitol and a retail store at 7 North Meridian Street. Kahn Tailoring made suits for men and women and were a major manufacturer of military uniforms for the United States during World War I and World War II. In 1954, Kahn Tailoring merged with Globe Tailoring of Cincinnati. In 2013, the Kahn production plant was renovated into an apartment building. |
