Description: Private (first class) Royce H. Lane of the 588th Ambulance Company, 428th Medical Battalion, receiving congratulations from his company commander, Lieutenant L. F. Yates (left), after receiving a $125 war bond from Lt. Sam H. Dapin (bond and special service officer, 428th) (right( at the post hospital at Camp Atterbury, Indiana during World War II (No. 247 A). Pfc. Lane purchased the bond during the camps third war bond drive (Information from Camp Crier newspaper, October 8, 1943.)
