T/4 Demetriou receives war bond

Description: Technician Fourth Grade Christos Demetriou, a cook of the 317th Station Hospital receiving his $1,000 war bond from Lieutenant Willard W. James at Camp Atterbury, Indiana during World War II (No. 240 A). T/4 Demetriou was a native of Greece and frequently bought war bonds because his family was likely still in Greece, which was occupied by the Axis Powers. Lt. James was adjutant and war bond officer the camps third war bond drive. (Information from Camp Crier newspaper, October 8, 1943.)
