Description: These are a series of maps of the different routes of the proposed Michigan and Wabash Canal. These include: Sheet 1 -- Michigan and Wabash Canal connection of the Big and Little St. Joseph River, summit section; Sheet 2 -- Michigan and Wabash Canal, northern route : line down the Little St. Joseph; Sheet 3 -- Michigan and Wabash Canal : Big and Little St. Joseph route, line down Pigeon River from B.M.O. its termination in 1829 to a point on the Big St. Joseph, sixty miles from the summit; Sheet 4 -- Michigan and Wabash Canal : Big and Little St. Joseph route, line down the Big St. Joseph to its connection with the feeder for the supply of the Kankakee summit. These are 1938 photocopies from the War Dept. Office of Chief of Engineers, War Division in Washington, D.C.
