Description: This is a series of maps of the different routes of the proposed Erie and Wabash Canal. There series consist of the following: No. 1 -- Map embracing a part of the different routes for the proposed Erie and Wabash Canal exhibiting the valley of the Wabash from the Missisinewa [ie Mississinewa] to Eel River; No. 2 -- Map of part of the routes for a canal to connect Lake Erie with the Wabash River, commencing at bench mark No. 1 on the St. Marys River and terminating at the Ohio state line; No. 3 -- Map embracing a part of the different routes of the proposed Erie and Wabash Canal exhibiting the valey [ie valley] of the Wabash from the mouth of Eel River to Tippecanoe; No. 4 -- Map of part of the proposed route of a canal to connect Lake Erie and the Wabash River; No. 5 -- Map of the different routes to connect Lake Erie with the Wabash River by a canal exhibiting the valley of the Wabash from the forks to the Mississinewa River. These are 1938 photocopies from the War Dept. Office of Chief of Engineers, War Division in Washington, D.C.
