Korean War Letter from Ralph E. Prather to Jesse G. Dorsey 3 Sep 1951

Description:	It has been 15 months since Ralph has been home. He is sorry to hear the bad news about Posey Cooper. Ralph left for Korea on an escort carrier. They went to Kobe, Japan to pick up Marine pilots and planes. The ship stayed off the coast of Korea and sent fighter planes in to help the infantry. He talks about spending time at a rest resort in Japan. They are back in the United States. Ralph married Tonya Le Andrews from Logansport, Indiana. They are living in California until he leaves for Korea. His brother, Paul, was in Korea. He really enjoys receiving the letters and Speed-O-Meter from Jesse. This letter is part of the Jesse G. Dorsey Korean War Correspondence collection. Dorsey was the Director of Recreation and Welfare and editor of the Speed-O-Meter newsletter for the Louisville Cement Company. Dorsey began sending monthly letters and the Speed-O-Meter to local service personnel during WWII. He continued this through the Korean War and for sometime afterwards.
