William Crooks locomotive, Charlestown, Indiana photograph

Description: Photograph of the William Crooks steam locomotive train at the Charlestown, Indiana Baltimore & Ohio train depot. It was built in 1861. The William Crooks was on an exhibition tour in September 1927 on its way to The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company Centenary Exhibition and Pageant in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1939 it was on tour on its way to the New York Worlds Fair. The photograph most likely was taken at either of these times when the train passed through Indiana. A banner on the side of the train says The Fair of the Iron Horse. Title written on the picture First B&O Train that passed through Charlestown. Photograph is part of the Harlan Dodd collection.
