7/4/1990 William Kollias wields a mean brush Tuesday as he appears to be adjusting the coiffure of Dr. Havilah Beardsley. The statue and surrounding fountain, which are being refurbished at a cost of $19,000, are located at the intersection of Beardsley Avenue and Riverside Drive. Kollias works for Venus Bronze Works Inc., Detroit and Indianapolis. The project includes the application of a protective coating to the likeness.
