The Elkhart Driving Park located at the northeast corner of Middlebury St. and Simpson Ave. was the site of many horse, automobile, and airplane races as well as a variety of athletic events. It opened in August 1866 and remained in operation until 1930. Shown here is a Sulky Race, which took place around 1906 at the park. |
