In 1969 the Ideal Toy Company tried to capitalize on the popularity of the Etch a Sketch. Instead of turning knobs to draw, the artist taps the side to make lines appear on the screen. Like the Etch a Sketch, shaking erases the drawing. Tapping the sides produces inconsistent lines explaining Tap’n Doodle’s unpopularity with kids. |
