Description: |
This branch and pine cone section comes from the Araucaria mirabilis, a now extinct species of evergreen tree. These flourished during the Jurassic Period, around 250 million years ago, in the Southern Hemisphere. The individual pine cone has been cut and polished to show the amazingly clear internal structure. |
