Description: |
The ichthyosaur is one of the best known prehistoric animals. The body of the Ichthyosaur is streamlined and torpedo shaped, with a dorsal fin on the back for stabilization and two pairs of paddles for steering, and a fishlike tail for swimming. Because of the ball and socket joints in the backbone of the Ichthyosaur, it had great flexibility and probably was able to reach great speeds. |
