Trilobite

Description: Trilobites are the first true arthropods. They lasted from the beginning of the Paleozoic Era to the end, lasting some 345 million years. There are 4,000 species included in the group trilobite. The trilobite body is divided into three sections: the head, thorax and tail. The thorax is divided into segments, up to forty in some species. These animals moved on legs, which are rarely preserved. Most trilobites could roll into a ball for protection.
