Ammonite

Description: This colorful Desmoceras ammonite comes from the Cretaceous Rocks of Madagascar and is over 150 million years old. It has been carefully cleaned and polished to highlight the iridescent red color. This bright red color comes from layers of aragonite and concholin that were preserved during its fossilization in a low acid environment.
